​Library Book Club: On December 14th,  Library Book Clubbers in grades 4-8 met with graphic novelist, Emma Steinkellner, author ofThe Okay Witch. Ms. Steinkellner is a former GVJH and DPHS student, so it was super fun to learn about the author's journey from a local! The week before, students met to discuss the Okay Witch and to learn how to create a comic strip! All students in 4th-8th grades are welcome to join Library Book Club at any time. Club de lectura de la biblioteca: El 14 de diciembre, los Club de lectura de la biblioteca en los grados 4-8 se reunieron con la novelista gráfica Emma Steinkellner, autora de The Okay Witch. La Sra. Steinkellner es una ex alumna de GVJH y DPHS, ¡así que fue muy divertido aprender sobre el viaje del autor de un local! ¡La semana anterior, los estudiantes se reunieron para discutir sobre Okay Witch y aprender a crear una tira cómica! Story Time 
Beginning February 4, each Thursday morning at 9:00am,  Mrs. Allison, our District Elementary Teacher Librarian will share an engaging picture book with classes using this Zoom link: https://sbunified.zoom.us/j/6922121213.

We will begin with the California Young Reader Medal nominees, so we can vote and send our ballots to the State!

Save the Date for Another Meet the Author Book Club! Please join the Santa Barbara Unified District teacher librarians in another Meet the Author event. This time we will welcome Roseanne Parry, author of A Wolf Called Wander and A Whale of the Wild.

A Wolf Called Wander is available on the Hoopla app. We will give away paperback copies to the first 10 students to sign up! If you’d like to donate more copies for our book club, please use this Chaucer’s wish list!
