March Middle grade madness
WHO? All students at Adams, Cleveland, Franklin, Harding, McKinley, Monroe, SBCA and Washington.
WHAT? March Madness is an online, bracket-style tournament where students get to read high interest books, discuss and vote for their favorites. The tournament will be decided by a simple vote on a google form (the forms do not collect any personal data). Teachers and parents can encourage students to vote individually or vote as a whole class. After each round of voting, the brackets will be updated and the next round of voting will begin. There will be two categories offered. You can select one to participate or both!

  2. March Middle Grade Books Madness
WHEN? Books will be announced in early October. This will you you time to think about how you might use the March Book Madness books in your classroom. Sometime in February, we will announce the bracket match-ups. Then in March, we will start the actual voting. Champions in each bracket will be decided on a date that is close to the NCAA Division 1 basketball championship game. Granted, due to the Covid-19 situation, this may or may not happen. Once the brackets are announced, more specific dates for the rounds of the tournament will be listed.
WHERE? All of the voting and brackets will be located on our digital library website. The voting button will go live sometime in March. We will also be making winning round announcements on Twitter.
WHY? WHY NOT? IT'S FUN!
(Special thanks to teachers Tony Keefer/Scott Jones for sharing!)
