Calling All Students in Grades 4, 5 & 6! Join Your School's Battle of the Books!

11/9/2020

Battle of the Books (BOB) is a super fun annual event held by Santa Barbara County Office of Education where students compete in a quiz-show-style challenge with students from other schools in the county. Students will test their knowledge on a range of middle grade books in groups. Then, scores are tallied before the final round, where the top two teams battle for the win!

How do I get involved?
  • Students must be in grades 4, 5, or 6 to participate.
  • Students, please join us for an informational Zoom meeting Tuesday, December 1, 3:00pm.
  • Commit to reading at least 15 of the 28 books listed by April 1, 2021. The SBCEO BOB event date is April 29, 2021.
  • Sign up! Some schools have existing BOB programs. These schools/students are welcome to sign up here too, use the tracking spreadsheet and join in our Zoom meetings. We will send your sign up form to your school's teacher. Every school is welcome to join our district 's Battle of the Books meetings twice a month. As we get closer to the event, I will meet with schools separately.
  • The final competition is limited to FIVE (5) participants per school.
